Team from Kędzierzyn- Koźle is acclimating in Omsk, where the team will play 2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League Final Four this weekend. In semi- final Zaksa will face Italian Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo.
Zaksa has been staying in Omsk (city that this weekend will be hosting the much anticipated last act of the 2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League) since Tuesday morning. In semi-final Polish team will play against Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo from Italy. The second semi- final match will be a struggle between two Russian teams- Lokomotiv Novosibirsk (the home team) and Zenit Kazan (defending champion).
“We are slowly adapting to time difference between Poland and Omsk. So far we have been training in Omiczka Omsk hall. They played with Bank BPS Fakro Muszyna in CEV Cup and they help us a lot. Our team could smoothly prepare to the game”- said ZAKSA’s President Sabina Nowosielska.
On Friday, according to tournaments regulations, ZAKSA’s players has an opportunity to test the court and practice in hall where the Final Four matches will be played. The training starts at 13.00 (Poland local time).
Lokomotiv Novosibirsk has also arrived in Omsk on Tuesday. – “This morning I met volleyball players from Cuneo. I haven’t seen Zenit yet”- added Mrs. Nowosielska
Final Four of Champions League is organized by Lokomotiv Novosibirsk thanks to the European Volleyball Confederation’s (CEV) decision. However the team can’t play in their own hall because it does not meet international requirements and norms.
There are 21 people in ZAKSA’s team in Omsk- 12 players, coaches, 2 physiotherapists, a statistician and 2 physical preparation coaches. “The ambience and spirit within a team is very good, guys are really motivated and mobilized. We want to show our best play”- added Nowosielska.
On Wednesday (at night in Omsk) the new Pope from Argentina (Daniel’s Castellani compatriot) has been elected after two days of conclave. President Sabina Nowosielska found out the information about this enormous event on Thursday morning while reading an e-mail. “Maybe it is a good sign” -she said.
