Young league’s team, PGE Skra Bełchatów, won on Sunday in Tomaszów Mazowiecki the Memorial of Wiesław Gawłowski. The team overtook the School of Sport Championship in Spała, as well as the II-league’s Lechia Tomaszów Mazowiecki.

Young league’s team, PGE Skra Bełchatów, won on Sunday in Tomaszów Mazowiecki the Memorial of Wiesław Gawłowski. The team overtook the School of Sport Championship in Spała, as well as the II-league’s Lechia Tomaszów Mazowiecki.
The Memorial of one of the most outstanding polish volleyball players in history, has been a key point of the program of Gala "Siatkarskie Asy" (transl. “Volleyball Aces”), performed in Tomaszów Mazowiecki and Spała, in term 7th -13th  of May.

Friday will be the most important day of Gala. On that day a match between the Polish Men’s National Team and students of the School of Sport Championship in Spała will perform. Many former and present players will participate in the event.    

Wiesław Stanisław Gawłowski (born the 19th of May 1950 in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, died on the 14th of November 2000) – nickname "Mały" (translation. “Small”) (was only 180 cm tall) or "Gaweł", volleyball player, coach, the World Champion from Mexico and the Olympic Champion from Montreal, will 366 matches played while being a member of the National Team (1969-1980). Died in a car accident on route from Budzanowa to Białołęka close to Płock city, on the 14th of November 2000.
