Japanese Volleyball Federation (JVA) informed that all the WL matches in their country will be cancelled. First they have been planned to take place in Saitama (on the 11th and 12th of June with Germany), in Nagasaki (on the 18th and 19th of June with Russia), as well as in Wakayama (on the 25th and 26th of June with Bulgaria). All the matches of the Japan National Team will take place at the rivals’ halls.

First they have been planned to take place in Saitama (on the 11th and 12th of June with Germany), in Nagasaki (on the 18th and 19th of June with Russia), as well as in Wakayama (on the 25th and 26th of June with Bulgaria). All the matches of the Japan National Team will take place at the rivals’ halls.

Because of the earthquake and tsunami, that took place in Japan on the 11th of March, over 28 000 victims have been killed. One of the consequences are breakdowns of the nuclear power stations. On Tuesday, the operator of the damaged Fukushima Daiichi station, the company Tokyo Electric and Power (TEPCO) informed, that emission of the radioactive substances may even surpass the one from Chernobyl, in 1986.

Russian team will play in Surgot twice, where on the 10th and 12th of June it will play against Bulgaria. The matches have already been arranged earlier. The next weekend (18th -19th of June) teams of the coach Władimir Alekno will fight against Japan. Russian Volleyball Federation arranged with the authorities of the city rules according to which the National Team of Russia will stay in Surgot, during the matches with Bulgaria and Japan.

Match between Russia-Japan on the 27th and 29th of May in Ufa, will start the intercontinental phase. In Kaliningrad Russia will play with Germany. Let’s remind that the National Team of Cuba will have only the away matches in the group phase. The reason for this was the renovation of the hall in Havana, the only one approved by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
