Michał Kądzioła and Jakub Szałankiewicz on Sunday took the 2nd place in the beach volleyball tournament titled „The Russian Winter” from the series CEV Satellite. The players together with coach, Sławomir Robert will stay in Poland for a short time. Soon they depart to Tenerife, for the trainings.

-We treat the play in Anapa as a phase of preparation for the season-said the coach, Sławomir Robert. –Most of all we would like to play against rivals who use technique of a high block and an aggressive attack. The leading Russian pairs present this type of the game. Some of those players are 210 cm tall. Regarding this condition, the sparring has fulfilled its task.

According to the coach Robert, another important experience from Anapa “was possibility to play and do the training on such a heavy and muddy sand”. Last year it was more compacted and therefore it was much easier to jump on it. Now, the game is much more difficult. Therefore, this experience will surely be useful-said Sławomir Robert.

Randy Stoklos, years ago an excellent American beach volleyball player. –At the turn of the 80s’ and 90s’ he was one of the top word players. He gave several lectures during the seminars in Anapa. I have had the opportunity to listen to his speech and talk to him. Randy Stoklos is of polish (Łódź) origin. His father, Rudi Stoklos was born in the second of the biggest polish cities-added coach Robert.

Kądzioła and Szałankiewicz will depart to Tenerife on Thursday and stay there till March 13th. Tomorrow, Grzegorz Fijałek and Mariusz Prudel will go to Fuerteventura, to prepare for the season, until March 12th, with one of the leading German pairs.
