The second day of the 33rd Congress of the International Volleyball Federation has been opened by Wilfred Lemke, sports adviser of the United Nations Organization, who encouraged the volleyball leaders to convince the government of their countries to invest in sport. – We have to introduce more sport activities to schools and make the children come out of their houses – said Lemke. – The exercises are very important, especially that nowadays children spend much more time in front of the computers than outside. We need more sport activities and less computer.
Wilfred Lemke has also mentioned the subject of disabled sportspeople. – We should pay more attention to the subject. I had a chance to observe the Paralympic Games in London and I was impressed. We have to perform actions in order to make these people more visible in sports centers. We need to prevent them from isolation – explained. Wilfred Lemke has also congratulated the President Jizhong Wei for all the work he has done during his presidency.
In the second day of the meeting of the International Volleyball Federation’s delegates the Congress approved changes in the FIVB Constitution and procedure of the elections of the new president.
