On the 8th of August 2012 a biography book of the polish national team coach, Andrea Anastasi entered the libraries – ‘Anastasi. A dwarf, who became a giant’. The author of the book is Adelio Pistelli. – It is a book worth reading – says the Olympic and World Champion, Ryszard Bosek, who wrote the epilogue.

The biography book ‘Anastasi. A dwarf, who became a giant’ starts from story about the hometown of the present coach of the polish men’s national team, his parents and siblings. Then the reader finds a rich description of the volleyball career of Anastasi, starting from Parma, and the performances in the national team of Italy. In further part we will read about the work of Anastasi as a coach – first with the national team of Italy and then of Spain and back to Italy.

Finally we get to the moment when Anastasi starts cooperation with the polish national team. Except the details concerning performances of our national team in the Final Six of the World League, European Championships in Czech Republic and Austria and the Word Cup, the author gives more information of his experiences when starting work in Poland and how his feelings towards the subject changed.

The last part of the book is the epilogue of Ryszarda Boska devoted entirely to the work with poles till the World League Final. Anastasi’s biography has been supplemented by the publisher with many additional elements (which are not in the original version), which more closely describe cooperation of Anastasi with the polish national team. Including: preface of the Polish Volleyball Federation President, Mirosław Przedpełski, or Sebastian Świderski.

- Andrea Anastasi’s biography tells a story of how hard work can bring a success. It concerns not only sport but also life in general. There are no fruits without effort and hard work - says Ryszard Bosek.
