The 12th of May was the deadline for submission of the teams participating in the European Cups tournament (Champions League, CEV and Challenge Cup). National Federations register the teams and later particular clubs are responsible to fulfill the database of the European Volleyball Federation.
The following men’s teams are granted places in the Champions League: PGE Skra Bełchatów (the Champion of Poland) and ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle (vice-champion). In the CEV Cup we will see Asseco Resovia (bronze medalist) and Tytan AZS Częstochowa (4th place at the PlusLeague) and AZS Politechnika Warszawska who will play in the Challenge Cup.
The drawing of lots of the CEV Cup and Challenge Cup will take place on the 25th of June in the headquarters of the European Volleyball Federation, in Luxemburg. On the 1st of July, in Vienna, the drawing of lots of the teams participating in the most prestigious Champions League tournament will take place.
At the moment we are in the middle of the women’s PlusLeague tournament. For now we have no information concerning the medalists, but we know in 90% which teams will play in the European tournament. In the (Women) Champions League and the CEV Cup we will have two representing teams in each tournament and one team in the Challenge Cup.
In the (Women) Champions League the team Bank BPS Muszynianka Fakro Muszyna (winner of the Cup of Poland) and Atom Trefl Sopot will participate. Both teams will play in the (Women) PlusLeague final. In case the Bank BPS will win the title of the Champion of the country, Atom Trefl will play in the Champions League as the vice-champion of Poland.
In the CEV Cup we will see Tauron MKS Dąbrowa Górnicza and BKS Aluprof Bielsko-Biała. The teams fighting for the 5th place, Organika Budowlani Łódź and Impel Gwardia Wrocław, will automatically fight for promotion to the Challenge Cup.
