The Polish Volleyball Federation has received a letter, dated February 4, 2015, from Mirosław Przedpełski in which he announces his resignation from the position of the Federation's President.
Here is the full text of the letter:
Dear Colleagues,
Friends of Polish Volleyball,
I would like to inform you that, for the good of Polish Volleyball and the Federation, I decided to resign from my position as the President of the Polish Volleyball Federation.
My current personal situation makes me unable to conduct the operations of the Federation and to serve Volleyball.
September 21, 2014 marks 10 years from the moment when, at a very difficult time for the PVF, you did me the honor of entrusting me with the function of the Federation’s President for the first time.
Many years of my hard work and your dedication to teamwork made it possible for us to organize great volleyball events: World League Finals, European Championship – men and women and finally, our first, historic, Polish World Championship, which turned out to be golden at last.
Polish Volleyball Federation’s situation today is the best ever, not just in the history of the PVF, but of the Polish sports federations in general. Our Federation is given as an exemplar, both in Poland and around the world.
I do not feel guilty of the actions I am being accused of and I am sure that I will be cleared of the charge in the course of judicial proceeding. All my actions have been directed towards the good of the Federation and Polish Volleyball, not personal gains. I hope that when the case is over I will be able to continue to work for volleyball.
The work that I committed myself to in the recent time, especially before the 2014 World Championship, was done at the expense of my health, which I neglected by postponing another necessary heart surgery, despite the doctors’ recommendation. My current situation has worsened my health, which needs to be taken care of immediately.
The PVF Statute does not allow for suspending the President in his function. Therefore, I made a well-considered decision to resign from my position as the President - a decision guided by sense of duty and responsibility for the Federation, our community, as well as my health.
My decision is effective from the day of your receiving this letter.
