Michał Bąkiewicz, receiver of PGE Skra, talks about preparations to season, emotions in London and his volleyball school.

Players of PGE Skra Bełchatów are already behind several weeks of trainings. The Olympic games' players from London, Michał Winiarski and Aleksander Atanasijević, are together with the team. In September, Wytze Kooistra and Dejan Vincić will join them too. Michał Bąkiewicz, receiver of PGE Skra, talks about preparations to season, emotions in London and his volleyball school.

pzps.pl: How are preparations to the season going on?
Michał Bąkiewicz: It is a hard work time for us. The trainings are focused on physical and conditional preparations. Everything is fine and the activities are going according to the plan.

- In the first part of preparations to the season coach Jacek Nawrocki did not participate in the process, because he lead junior men’s national team in the European Championships. Did you observe game of your younger colleagues in Gdynia?
- First of all one could see how hard they fought. It is a pity they did not manage to promote to the top four. They were so close.

- Have you been in London during the Olympic games? How did you feel in a role of a fan?
- The atmosphere was great. This is the next time polish fans have shown that they are the best in the world. Therefore, they deserve a big applause. As for me, my heart beat stronger. I managed to support boys live, and I am very happy for this. The only minus was failure with Russia in the quarterfinal.

- Lately it is very popular among the volleyball players to create an account on internet portals. This is a way to share with fans latest news?
- Definitely. I try to inform fans up to date. I am not a typical person who likes interviews, therefore I hope this idea is positive and that fans are satisfied.

- You also conduct your own volleyball school called ‘Bąku Volley’. Do you also plan to organize trainings in several polish cities, just like Marcin Możdżonek?
- For the moment I focus on Piotrków Trybunalski. With the beginning of the school year, the second season for volleyball school started. I am satisfied with how good it all works out, I mean cooperation with children, youth and the fact that there are so many people willing to do sport. I think that Łódź voivodeship and Piotrków are for the moment the only right place  for ‘Bąku Volley’.

- Have you already noticed any volleyball talents among your players?
- I can see several young players who are good candidates so far. If guided well, they can play on a high level.

- PlusLeague starts in a month time. Do you think the top league will be as attractive as the last season, without stars like Grozer or Kurek? They had a big influence on attractiveness of the tournament.
- Gyorgy Grozer and Bartek Kurek are amazing players, but the PlusLeague tournament will be as attractive as last year. New players have come and fans will concentrate their attention on them.
