Former representative of the Polish National Team, 2003 European Champion, Małgorzata Niemczyk, became coach of the female team Ogranika Budowlani Łódź. She replaced Wieslaw Popik on the position, with whom the contract has been terminated by mutual agreement. He begun work with the team in summer 2009, after promotion of the team to PlusLiga (Women).
-Małgorzata Niemczyk works with Budowlani team since years – said Marcin Chudzik, President of the club from Łódź. –She was both, the player and the captain of the team, who has gone through various stages including 2nd League, 1st League and the Top League. She acted as a coach on court. In the previous season together with the team she won the Cup of Poland and took the 4th place in PlusLiga (Women). I am glad, Małgorzata Niemczyk agreed to help us till the end of this season.
Before the present season, board of the club obliged us to perform a difficult task, namely to get to the top four places of the League, but after eleven matches Organika is ranked eight. After the nomination, the new coach admitted to be worried because of the ranking and also added that she is not sure if the selection should be a reason for her to be happy.
- At the moment it is hard to say anything. I worry about the place of my team in the ranking. Nevertheless, I hope the experience and hope of our girls will bring results. Maybe with my mental support they will find the power from the last season and we will see them playing volleyball as over a year ago. For sure the team has great potential-said Niemczyk.
Małgorzata Niemczyk has been playing with the National Team since 1989. Then, in 1995 she resigned to come back again in 2003, when her father Andrzej Niemczyk was nominated the coach of the National Team. When almost 42-years old Niemczyk has officially announced to end up her volleyball career, she did not realize the biggest success is yet to came- in 2003 together with the Polish National Team she won the gold medal of the European Championships.
