On Monday meeting of the Presiding Board of the PVF, attended by the President of the Board of Audit, a decision was made to call an urgent meeting of the PVF Board – on Wednesday, November 19. As required by the Statute, the board will make its decisions in accordance with the law and in the best interests of Polish volleyball.

The Presiding Board will present to the Board its recommendation with regard to suspending the President and Vice-President as members of the Board, due to their present formal legal situation.

The PVF would like to inform that it is capable of conducting all of its statutory activities, which guarantee full range of operations.

The Presiding Board will also recommend conducting an audit of the World Championship by an independent and renown institution, in order to demonstrate the championship’s full transparency, financial credibility as well as conformity of the championship organization and settlement with formal and legal procedures, to our partners, sponsors and fans.

We would not want this unpleasant event to cast a shadow over the image of Polish volleyball or in the slightest degree diminish what we managed to achieve, both during the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship Poland 2014 and in building the position of Polish volleyball. Its sports-, organizational and image-building success is undeniable. It was possible thanks to many years of hard work of many people within the PVF all around Poland. We will do everything we can to prove to our partners and fans that the federation has not let down their trust.

Let us repeat that the charges filed by the prosecutor office concern the actions of individuals and not actions of the federation.

The PVF will not make any comments on the current state of President’s and Vice-President’s individual legal situation. However, we would like to remind that Polish law holds the principle of presumption of innocence. We call for respect for this principle and refraining from hasty judgments.
