Karolina Piotrowska, 5 September 2012
Since the 29th of August till the 2nd of September in Halifax, Canada, World Championships U21 in beach volleyball took place. The gold medal in men’s category has been won by Piotr Kantor and Bartosz Łosiak, who improved their result from the past season, when they won silver.
- After the last year’s title of Word Vice-Champion Piotrek and Bartek have been considered as one of the favorites of the tournament. One can say they were obliged to repeat or improve the success of the past year – said coach Sławomir Robert. – Last season they were a year younger, this year it was their main tournament. They have done their job in 100%.
Piotr Kantor and Bartosz Łosiak begin the tournament with failure. In the first group match they lost with American pair Kalmach/Carico 1:2. However, in further matches they did not lose even one set and self-confident reached for the title of the World Champion U21. – Misfortune in the first match was our fault. We made several mistakes – said Sławomir Robert. – However, I am happy that we have lost this match, because failure informed boys it is going to be a hard tournament and every match requires concentration and motivation. In the next matches they have already been very focused and as we could see from the results, they did not even lose a set.
