- Stare Jabłonki always will remain a special place in our thoughts and calendar, because the place is located in Poland, where a lot of amazing fans are being gathered. We hope to win there one day… but when will it be… who knows – said Grzegorz Fijałek and Mariusz Prudel, polish national team players, the best beach volleyball pair, before the departure at the Grand Slam tournament to Beijing. From Beijing Poles will go to Rome at the World Championships.
pzps.pl: There is still a lot of time to the tournament in Jabłonki and before us the most important event of the season-World Championships in Rome. Which place do you think you can get at the moment?
Mariusz Prudel: It is not an easy question. First we have to go through groups, afterwards, depending on the system of eliminations and against whom we will play, the battle will continue. I think we would manage to get the 9th place, but of course every place higher in the ranking will make us happy. For sure this is our goal, that we would like to realize and this would be our success.
Grzegorz Fijałek: I agree with Mariusz, we started to work on our condition after the last season. We work and cooperate with the new coach. We have more knowledge and feel much stronger. Let’s hope the shape will come together with the championships and the place in the first nine will be great achievement. We can do that.
pzps.pl: We know what is most important-historical promotion to the forthcoming Olympic Game in London. You are on the right way to play there. Maybe in December your qualification will confirm.
M.P.: Qualifications to the Olympic Games will take place till the end of June of the next year. However, to finish the career in volleyball and change on beach volleyball only-this is not an easy matter.
PZPS: So far you have a good health?
- Luckily it is fine and let’s hope it will stay like that-say polish Beach volleyball players jointly.
