After one year absence, Hall of Fame in Milicz comes back to Volleyball calendar. Among others, brilliant Brazilian volleyball player Giba and Italian Andrea Zorzi will reveal their hand prints.

After one year absence, Hall of Fame in Milicz comes back to Volleyball calendar. Among others, brilliant Brazilian volleyball player Giba and Italian Andrea Zorzi will reveal their hand prints. 

The opening of Hall of Fame took place on 10th May 2003. The originators of the event were the Jury President Maciej Jarosz, members Wladyslaw Palaszewski, Slawomir Jachimowski and Miroslaw Wachowiak. For the first time in a symbolic avenue was laid four boards with handprints of activists and the best volleyball players. The ceremony was graced by matches between "Wagners’ Eagles" and "Golden Guard Team" and between Galaxie Czestochowa and Gwardia Wroclaw. 

On 24thand 25th May Polish men’s senior national team will play two friendly matches with Serbian national team, which will be the culmination of 9th Hall of Fame in Milicz. On 24th in the city center real great volleyball names will appear. Handprints will reveal Brazilian: three-time world champion and Olympic champion in 2004, Gilberto Amauri de Godoy Filho well known as Giba.

Handprint will also leave three-time European champion and world champion from Italy Andrea Zorzi. The player who in 1991 was called by FIVB the best player of the world. In Milicz also will be present the most famous Serbian volleyball brothers – Nikola and Vladimir Gribić. Poland will be represented by multiple representative of our country Wojciech Drzyzga and Krystyna Wlecial. 

Jury of the Hall of Fame and Milicz Mayor Pawel Wybierala decided to honor with postmortem plaque Arkadiusz Golas. One of the best Polish volleyball players of the young generation. The Polish representative in years  2001-2005, who died in September 16, 2005, in a car crash at the age of 24. 

Hall of Fame Jury with Polish Volleyball Federation’s President Miroslaw Przedpelski are taking steps to reveal one more board. Handprints would leave President of FIVB Mr. Ary Graça. 

Without any doubt this Hall of Fame edition will be great volleyball festival!
