The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) officially announced Danish and Polish Volleyball Federations to host the 2013 Senior Men’s and 2012 Junior’s European Volleyball Championships.
With strong support from partners from each respective Volleyball community, host cities, the national governments and Sport Event Denmark; the Danish national sports event organisation, both federations (Denmark and Poland) are focused on preparing a strong campaign to spread volleyball all across Europe.
Mr. Erik Jacobsen, President of the Danish Volleyball Federation, said:
“We are looking forward to hosting these events. The transfer of knowledge and know-how both with regards to development and practical experience within our federations will ensure a wonderful experience for all participants and supporters alike. As this is our first joint bid, we are looking forward to cooperate with Poland and learn from their volleyball experience.’’
Mr. Mirosław Przedpełski, President of the Polish Volleyball Federation, said:
“This is a unique opportunity to build partnership with our northern neighbours, as well as with all other countries throughout Europe. We are passionate about Volleyball and want not only to develop our sport on the new markets, but also to host an event which will welcome fans from all over Europe. Our cities will transform, creating a festive sport atmosphere to welcome all European citizens who will come to experience such an amazing volleyball celebration.”
The 2013 Senior Men’s European Volleyball Championships are scheduled as follows:
Preliminary rounds in Poland (Gdansk/Gdynia) and in Denmark.
Playoffs, semi-finals and finals in the Danish cities: Odense, Herning, Århus and Copenhagen (finals).
The 2012 Junior’s European Volleyball Championships are scheduled as follows:
Preliminary rounds in Denmark/Randers and Poland/Rewal.
Semi-finals as well as finals in Poland/Rewal.
The Danish/Polish bid beat the strong volleyball bid of Finland and Estonia.
