Kołosińska and Brzostek seize 7th place at CEV Satellite in Antalya where the beach volleyball season was opened on Tuesday, 2 April 2013.
Polish beach volleyball players opened the season at the CEV Satellite tournament in Antalya.
The duo Kosiak/Rudol was the only male pair who qualified to the main competition from among 3 Polish duos playing in qualification.
The Word Champions U-19 Michał Bryl and Kacper Kujawiak faced Portuguese Barros and Soares. They were the dominant force beyond all doubt and they won 2 sets in 29 minutes.
Bryl/Kujawiak - Barros/Soares 2:0 (21:9, 21:7)
In the 2nd match of the 1st qualification round Polish duo Łukasz Kaczmarek and Sebastian Kaczmarek lost the struggle in tie-break playing against German Dittelbach/Flüggen and they finished the tournament.
Dittelbach/Flüggen - Kaczmarek/Kaczmarek 2:1 (22:20, 18:21, 15:11)
Maciej Kosiak and Maciej Rudol started the tournament playing in the 2nd round of qualifications. Unfortunately they had to compete with countrymen Bryl and Kujawiak. After winning the game in 2 sets Kosiak with Rudol qualified to the main draw.
Bryl/Kujawiak - Kosiak/Rudol 0:2 (19:21, 9:21)
Afterwards, they defeated Spijkers/Van de Velde in 2 sets (22:20, 21:16) and they run into Dollinger brothers in the 2nd round. After the equal fight in the 1st set Kosiak and Rudol lost the game 0-2 (19:21, 13:21).
In the main tournament we could also watch the pair Kantor/Łosiak. Unfortunately they lost their match in 1st round. Fighting against the duo from Norway they were able to win the 1st set but finally they finished by being defeated 1-2 (17:21, 25:23, 15:11).
Then, they beat Olsen and Koren of Denmark easily in straight sets (21:14, 21:12).
Unfortunately,  Friday morning was not successful for our male duos Kosiak/Rudol and Kantor/Łosiak and their adventure in Antalya came to an end.
Kosiak/Rudol – Vesik/Kollo 1:2 (15:21, 21:18, 7:15)
Kantor/Łosiak - Gunnarsson/Brinkborg 0:2 (16:21, 13:21)
The last duo- Brzostek/Kołosińska who was the only pair representing Poland in women’s competition started the tournament by overcoming German Bieneck/Großner in the 1st round. Polish pair won the game 2-1 coming back after losing the first set (18-21) to win the next two (21:19, 15:8).
In the 2nd round Polish players lost in straight sets (16:21, 17:21) to Holtwick/Semmler of Germany first and then won 2 matches playing against the duo Goricanec/Hüberli from Switzerland (21:18, 21:19) and Motrich/Prokopeva from Russia (21:17, 21:15).
The match against Grawender/Lundqvist was successful too, nevertheless, Kołosińska and Brzostek  needed three sets to overbear the Swedish 2-1 (18-21, 21-19, 15-11).
Unfortunately the next match turned out their last one.  Kołosińska with Brzostek were ousted quite easy in straight sets by Spanish Liliana/Baquerizo as their supremacy was never in danger and they sealed 21-13, 21-12 win that clearly shows their full control of the game. In this way Polish pair finished the competition at good 7th place.
