Karolina Piotrowska, 5 September 2011
In Halifax, Piotr Kantor and Bartosz Łosiak won the title of the vice-world-champions U 21. It is the 10th medal won this year by the polish beach volleyball national team players, during the international events on the European and World level. In Canada, the white-and-reds pair lost in the final with the team from Ukraine, Walery Samodaj and Serhijo Popow 1:2 (20:22, 21:19, 12:15).
- This is the first time that we have such a successes in the history of the Polish Volleyball Federation-said Secretary General of the Polish Volleyball Federation Bogusław Adamski. There is no such age category in which our players would not win a medal. Before start of each event, Polish players are considered a main candidates for the podium. The coaches of the rivals analyze the play of the polish women’s and men’s players, in order to know more about us. Poland became a serious player on the international beach volleyball arena.
I would like to recall that Bartosz Łosiak and Piotr Kantor are this year’s European Champions U-20. – Repeated successes are evidence of systematic work lead by the Polish Volleyball Federation. Beach volleyball increasingly becomes a popular sport in the country. In many places in Poland people are willing to build the new beach volleyball courts. One of the good examples is the Lubuskie voivodeship, where series of the tournaments have been organized. Furthermore, in Gubin, at the end of holiday a sport summary of the previous event took place-said Bogusław Adamski.
Worth mentioning is the fact that Marshal Elżbieta Polak together with the board of the Lubuskie Voivodeship founded beach volleyball courts in 26 different municipalities. During the holidays many tournments organized according to the Marshal Office’s plan titled ‘Sport summer in Lubuskie 2011’ has been organized.
Secretary General of the PVF reminded that beach volleyball in Poland started in the 90s. Since the year 2007 a center based on a sport hall functions in Łódź. At the moment there is also a school, in winter there are four in-side courts. Whereas in summer there is a whole complex available build according to the international sport objects requirements. These are the effects of planned and analyzed Polish Volleyball Federation politics. There are not too many such objects of course. We cooperate with local authorities and support the initiatives to promote the sport-added Bogusław Adamski.
One of the interesting initiatives has the voivodeship authorities of Rewal. – In Niechorze there is a great sport center being build, close to the beach. One can feel there a smell of the sea and the wind blow, what does not disturb in playing. The beautiful center with permanent tribunes and perfect equipment allows us to apply for organization of the great international event in 2012-said the PVF’s Secretary General.
Both the youngest players and the senior players had their successes. Grzegorz Fijałek and Mariusz Prudel have granted participation in the Olympic Games, in London. – One of our main goals for the forthcoming years is to qualify the two polish male and one polish female pair to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016. Furthermore, we will also fight for the Senior European Championships medals. Recent successes authorize us to plan such goals for the coming years - said Boguslaw Adamski.
On one of the Internet portals I have read that the polish Beach volleyball successes are build on a fragile foundations. – I think, the author of these words spoke too hastily on this topic. I would wish every sport discipline such a successes as we had in this year’s beach volleyball. Such results are not achieved by accident, but by a systematic, regular and thought actions – finished Secretary General of the PVF.
