Poles started very well. Excellent defense of Fijalek and a great game on the block of Prudel gave our players the lead 4-0. Several endless attacks of our players has allowed opponents to compensate for the loss of two points 6:4. However, Polish team started to dictate conditions and won 14:7. From this point our team stopped to play well and started to make mistakes. Effective block of Nicolai gave a tie 20:20 but fortunately for our team, last point (22:20) by block won Mariusz Prudel.

The second part opened successful attack of Fijalek. The court battle was fought aligned, point for point. Error of the Italian team and good play of Poles, gave our team the lead 10:7. In a moment, the Italians have reduced the loss, but in the end the game went under the dictation of our players. The match ended with Prudel block. Poles won the bronze medal in the European Championships!
