On Sunday, the VII Memorial of Zdzisław Ambroziak has finished. In this year’s edition of the tournament for the first time in history a foreign team performed - Arkas Izmir. Turkish volleyball players won silver medals after failure with PGE Skra Bełchatów.
- This year we decided to invite a foreign team – said organizer of the tournament and Zdzisław Ambroziak’s wife, Ewa Ambroziak. – In the future we would like to organize European capitals tournament. However, it is combined with much bigger budget and it changes every year. We dream about an international tournament and hope ne day will be able to make this wish come true.
The players and staff of the Turkish team have been very satisfied with their visit to Warsaw. – I love to play in Poland – said setter of Arkas, Kevin Hansen. – People really love volleyball in our country. Everyone is very nice and hospitable. The event has been successful both in terms of organization and sport result. In my opinion fans have enjoyed the tournament. I hope once again I will have opportunity to play in Poland.
On Monday morning, the Arkas players went to Kędzierzyn-Koźle, where on Friday (the 28th of September) at 17:00h they will face ZAKSA. They will depart to Turkey on Saturday.
