International Volleyball Federation decided to expand the 2013 World Grand Prix tournament up to 20 teams.

International Volleyball Federation decided to expand the 2013 World Grand Prix tournament up to 20 teams. The schedule of the tournament has been arranged at the meeting in Lausanne.

Polish female players will start the 2013 WGP in Brazil, during the first weekend of August. They will face the host team, Russia and the USA. One week later the team of coach Alojzy Świderek will play in Poland against Japan, Germany and Kazakhstan. In term 16th -18th of August the white-and-reds will play in Macao against China, Serbia and Argentina.

The 2013 World Grand Prix Final will be held in Japan (on the 28th of August – the 1st of September). Except the host team we will also see the five top national teams of the tournament.

The 1st term (2nd -4th of August)

Group A (Brazil): Brazil, USA, Poland, Russia

Group B (Dominican Republic): Dominican Republic, Serbia, Puerto Rico , Czech Republic

Group C (Turkey): Japan, Thailand, Turkey, CAVB*

Group D (Macao): China, Cuba, Bulgaria, the Netherland

Group E (Italy): Italy, Germany, Argentina, Kazakhstan

The 2nd term (9th -11th of august)

Group F (Serbia): Serbia, USA, the Netherland, CAVB

Group G (Puerto Rico): Brazil, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Bulgaria

Group H (Poland): Poland, Japan, Germany, Kazakhstan

Group I (Hong Kong): China, Turkey, Argentina, Czech Republic

Group J (Russia): Russia, Italy, Thailand, Cuba

The 3rd term (16th -18th of August)

Group K (Kazakhstan): Brazil, Cuba, the Netherland, Kazakhstan

Group L (Thailand): Russia, Thailand, Germany, Puerto Rico

Group M (Japan): USA, Japan, Czech Republic, Bulgaria

Group N (China): China, Serbia, Poland, Argentina

Group O (Taiwan): Italy, Turkey, Dominican Republic, CAVB

 

Final: the 28th of August – the 1st of September, Japan

*CAVB- the African Volleyball Federation (after the eliminations the best national team will be chosen to join the participants of the WGP 2013).
