The Poland national team debuted at the World Grand Prix in 2004. The team played for the first time in the final round in 2007. Poland started the game against the USA incredibly. The USA struggled with Poland’s serves. Poland established an 8:4 and then a 16:9 lead. The Polish team was playing calmly and thoughtfully.
The second set was similar to the first. Before the second technical break, Poland established a five point lead. Poland’s lead was growing after the break - 17:11. 20:14 i 23:15. Poland’s receiving was precise, but they got a bit distracted and lost three points. After the break Katarzyna Skowrońska-Dolata spiked the ball, and Karolina Kosek’s serve wasn’t received.
Most parts of the third set were successful to Poland that led 8:6, 16:14 and 18:15. The USA made several mistakes and Poland was attacked precisely, mainly Karolina Kosek. Poland was then again in the lead 22:20 and 24:22, but every time the rivals were close. In the end Poland lost 26:28. The fourth set belonged to the USA (19:25). Poland began tie-break unfavorably. Serving an “ace”, Americans took the lead (5:2), what led to timeout, requested by Jerzy Matlak. Then Poland even managed to draw (8:8), but the rivals managed to go ahead and won.

Both teams met in Gdynia and then Poland was better..
