Translation: Karolina Piotrowska, 15 March 2011
-Tomaszów Lubelski is a city with big volleyball traditions-says President of the Lublin Volleyball Federation, Krzysztof Iwańczuk. – In the past, we had here a 1st league men’s team and Marek Winniczuk played with the junior national team, what has been a significant distinction in that time. Unfortunately, volleyball (men) started to loose with football (men). Former players, of the previously mentioned 1st league team (men), try to present the good game playing at the Old Boy’s Championships of Poland.
Soon, the high level of the game was presented by the girls. The big Youth Center has been established in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, one of the best in the voivodeship. Actually, Stanisław Kaniewski and Jerzy Senejko work as coaches. Since several years, the team has been playing in the 2nd league-adds President Iwańczuk. –It is mainly composed of our players. Lately, it was joined by the senior women players from Tarnobrzeg. Paulina Głaz is a strong element of the Youth National Team.
Krzysztof Iwańczuk admits that the decission to grant Tomaszów Lubelski organization of the Junior (Women) Championships of Poland has definitely more advantages than disadvantages. –The local activists have experience in organization of the events. For example, the Finals of the Championships of Poland of Youth (Women) and Youngster (Women), the nationwide Youngster’s Olympics. We have a support of the city and district authorities. I think participants will not complain about the high prices. Another beautiful advantage of the city is the lake, opposite. Undoubtedly, some of the teams will find Tomaszów located very far-said President Iwańczuk.
TKS Tomasovia’s Junior National Team won the voivodeship tournament. In the semifinal and quarterfinal it was ranked 2nd.
