- “USA Today”: polish players with bronze medal in London

Polish Senior Men’s National Team will get bronze medal during the Olympic Games in London – these are the latest forecasts of the American daily “USA Today”. This year’s Olympic torch will gleam on the 27th of July. According to the newspaper the polish national anthem will be heard twice – after the victory in canoeing of Marta Walczykiewicz and Adrian Zieliński in weightlifting. Altogether the white-and-reds will return with fifteen medals 2-5-8 and will be ranked 28th. The USA will win 41-21-29 (91). The next one will be China 36-34-23 (93) and Russia 20-29-39 (78).
The classification prepared by the Dutch company Infostrada Sports is based on the analysis of the results of sportsmen in period from before the Olympic Games.
“USA Today” has been preparing the forecasts since several months. In the previous ones the favorite in the polish group was Marcin Dołęga in weightlifting, but unfortunately he did not participate in the last World Championships and has been excluded from the ranking therefore.
For the first time the group of medalists included polish volleyball players. The team of Andrea Anastasi qualified thanks to a very good performances at the World Cup in Japan, where has been ranked second. Russia won the tournament. Brazil was ranked third. The three teams mentioned previously promoted to the Olympic tournament. According to the authors of the forecasts the polish team had great season.
