After a third day of a senior men’s qualification tournament to the Olympic Games in London, we found out that Finland goes back home. The team lead by new coach of ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Daniel Castellani, performed very well during the first match with Italy. In a tie-break the Finns had 11:8 advantage, but soon they lost the match 2:3. It was the beginning of the end for the Suomi volleyball team.

After a third day of a senior men’s qualification tournament to the Olympic Games in London, we found out that Finland goes back home. The team lead by new coach of ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Daniel Castellani, performed very well during the first match with Italy. In a tie-break the Finns had 11:8 advantage, but soon they lost the match 2:3. It was the beginning of the end for the Suomi volleyball team. During the following matches they did not play so well. According to Helsinki magazine: ‘Our boys are playing as if they were not themselves”.

On Thursday the team from Finland did not manage to win with Slovakia, which still has hope to qualify to the top four. Today we will know everything. Serbia, the Champion of Europe,  rose after the failure with Bulgaria. The victory 3:1 over Spain gives hope for promotion to the final. For the moment the leading teams of group 1 are: Bulgaria, Spain and Serbia. Group 2 leaders, with Georgy Grozer did not win with Italy. Today we will know which team except the host one and most probably Germans will promote to the top four.
