After a match won by Poland over Brazil 3:2 in Spodek hall in Katowice a nice ceremony took place. President of the Polish Volleyball Federation, Mirosław Przedpełski, activists and fans thanked Sebastian Świderski for many years of work with the national team and representing our country on the international arena.

Sebastian Świderski together with the Polish National Team played 298 matches, including 102 at the World League. During the sparring match with Bulgaria in 2009 before the European Championships he had a serious injury.  – Because of the problems with the Achilles tendon – he has been eliminated from the participation in volleyball tournaments for several months. He did not go on the above mentioned European Championships because of the surgery and rehabilitation. He came back to the game in season 2010/11. Unfortunately, he had some health problems and on the 12th of March 2012 he decided to finish his sport career.

On Sunday, President Mirosław Przedpełski, on behalf of the Polish Volleyball Federation and all the volleyball environment thanked Sebastian Świderski for many years of work with the polish national team (including silver medal at the World Championships 2006 in Japan).  – Sebastian, I would like to thank you for the years of work with the national team. I wish you many successes as a coach – said President of the PVF.

- I would like to thank all the fans. It would not be possibile without you. I hope we will still have a chance to see each other again – said the representative of the polish national team.
