Did you keep in mind the match you lost with Australia at the Olympic Games in 2012? Was it an additional motivation?

Before the match our coach showed us one of the articles written after our loss with Australia at the Olympic Games in London. This match closed our doors to final four and we could not fight for medals. I was not in London in 2012 but I remember that game as a total defeat of whole Polish volleyball. We warned ourselves about this match but we are content with the victory. We realised our plan, although the opponent played quite well.

What is the secret to such self-confidence? That was the second match and you seem not to stress at all.

We do not feel any negative pressure on us and we do realize what is the value of this tournament. Probably everybody on the pitch during World Championship would realize so. We know what we are fighting for. I am happy that we are not petrified by anything for know. I hope it will be the same until the end of World Championship.

Popular opinion has it that Argentina could be a dark horse of the championship. Do you have your own candidates?

We know that Argentina has some great players, but honestly, at this tournament, all teams do their best, except maybe a few teams from our group and individual cases from the others. This makes us watch out for every opponent and focus entirely on the game.

Venezuela would be your next opponent. What this match would look like?

We win, I hope.

We have absolutely best volleyball fans, we hold the biggest volleyball tournament and we have football as the national sport. What would have to happen to change this?

I think that the opening match at the National Stadium proved that volleyball is about to become our national sport. I really would like it to happen. I do not want to detract anything from football because I know how spectacular this discipline can be and how many people are into it. I also do not want to be in competition with footballers. However I would like people to support all national teams that can win some medals.
