In the last group match of the Olympic Games Poland lost with Australia 1:3 (21:25, 22:25, 25:18, 22:25).
The white-and-reds begin from the attack of Możdżonek. Also Nowakowski had good performances at the net. Poland had advantage 4:1. However, after the service ace the result was very balanced 4:4. Our players could not deal with ending their own attacks and Australians had good block when 8:11. Soon Anastasi’s team reached the result 12:12, and before the second technical break Poland had advantage 16:15. The game of the polish players was very nervous, they made simple mistakes, what resulted in advantage for Australia 17:22. The set was finished by Roberts 21:25.
Australian players started well the second set. Polish team still could not finish their actions. Edgar performed great in the attack 4:11. Coach Anastasi decided to make some changes. Kubiak replaced Winiarski, Zagumny changed Źygadło and Bartman was replaced by Jarosz. The white-and-reds soon started to make up losses. Their started to play using block and the result was 13:16. Unfortunately polish team again faced problems with Australia and lost the second set 22:25.
In the third set the court entered Żygadło and Winiarski. Poland started action from the effective block. The beginning of the set was balanced. It was a point for point fight. After a service ace of Jarosz, the white-and-reds went on a first technical break with advantage 8:6. Our team started to improve and soon the points changed on 16:11 for Poland. In this moment, polish team again started to make mistakes 17:16. Luckily, after three great blocks of Kosok the result changed on 20:16. The white-and-reds finally started to play and won the set 25:18.
The fourth set begin with two service aces of Jarosz. Our spiker did great at the attack too. Soon Poland had three points of advantage 9:6. However, the rival made up losses and the result was 10:10. Australian team tourned out to be better and the final set finished with the result 22:25.
