Next four teams to participate in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship Poland 2014 will be known this month

There are five vacancies left in the men’s tournament of this year’s FIVB World Championship. Four of them will be filled by the winners of NORCECA qualifying tournaments, which start in May. The fifth and last team will become known in two months. The play-offs, which will take place in either Puerto Rico or Mexico, will see the second-best teams from NORCECA qualifiers battle for the last chance to participate in the highlight of the season.

The Drawing of Lots for the World Championship took place in the premises of Warsaw’s Palace of Culture and Science on January 27. The opening match will be played at Warsaw National Stadium on August 30. 

In the first round of the tournament Poland will face Serbia, Venezuela, Argentina, Australia and Cameroon in Pool A.

The FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship Poland 2014 will feature the winners of four NORCECA qualifying round pools. Second ranked teams from each pool will then compete in a play-off phase (July 7-13), and the victorious team will take the last ticket for the World Championship. Mexico and Puerto Rico are both candidates for organizing the play-off games.
