Men’s National Team in Spała

Men’s National Team is already after the first trainings. On Thursday the players had medical examination in Wasaw and then went to Spała. The same day the players and the training staff with Andrea Anastasi met with the authorities of the Polish Volleyball Federation. Piotr Gruszka will be the captain of the National Team, as decided by the coach Anastasi.

- The coach Andrea Anastasi left us with a very positive impression. We have no doubts about his professionalism and familiarity with his work – said receiver of the Polish National Team, Michał Bąkiewicz.
- He is an expert who maintains calm and posess perfect knowledge in his field and as an addition he is a nice man – adds Michał Bąkiewicz. Polish Natioanl Team is preparing to the first matches of the season in the School of Sport Championship in Spała, namely to the World League tournament. – So far we had 2-3 trainings and the gym every other day. On Saturday we have been training divided on groups of six. For the first two day the trainings begin at 11.00h and since the forthcoming Sunday we will be starting at 9.30h. We have started in a rather calm manner, according to our plan, however, with every consecutive day the trainings will become more difficult. We had just finished the league, therefore, it will take us some time to do our best-said Michał Bąkiewicz.

Last Thursday the players had gone through standard medical examination in Warsaw, that always precede a sport camp. All according to the plan – morphology, laryngologist, orthopedist, ECG, internist. – Afterwards, we came back to Spała on the official dinner with authorities of the Polish volleyball Federation, training Staff and members of the training department of the PVF. It was a nice opportunity for us to get to know each other better – says Michał Bąkiewicz.

The first phase of the training camp will continue till Saturday, the 14^th of May. Then a small break and starting from Monday (the 16th of May) the players will resume the preparations in Spała. On the 20^th of May, in Milicz, players of the coach Anastasi will face a tough exam, namely the match against Russia.

On Friday, the 13th of May, the match show of Polish Senior Men’s National Team against players of the School of Sport Championship will take place. Start at 17.00h. The performance is part of the program of Gala "Siatkarskie Asy" (transl. “Volleyball Aces”) Tomaszów Mazowiecki-Spała (7^th-13^th of May).
