The first match of the championships is always difficult. Everyone has to forget about stress and focus on the game – confirms receiver, Michał Ruciak. – The first match is always a tough one and every another becomes even more difficult. These are the championships, therefore every another match is equally important. Now we have to think about the match against Brazil.
The team of Andrea Anastasi had strong advantage for the first two sets. They gave the speed of the game. However, in the third set, when Gyorgy Grozer took the position of setter some problems occured. It had a strong influence on the loss of the white-and-reds in the third set. – Unfortunately, we lost several points in the third part. Maybe we also made some mistakes, but it happens in sport. Fortunately, today we won – said Łukasz Żygadło after the match.
During the third set Germany defeated us with their serves, therefore we did not manage to win. The one who has stronger serves wins. We could not find a receipt for these serves. Quite late we started to follow them and after a hard ending we finally lost the third set. But in the fourth set we returned to our rhythm and won the match. If we concentrate on our first ball we will play good matches – foresees the chances of the white-and-reds Krzysztof Ignaczak.
Further matches of the group in Prague will be very emotional. After the Saturday’s lost of Bulgaria with Slovakia everything is open. – For this reason the matches will be even more interesting than everyone could have expected. Everything may happen – but if we want to play, we have to win every match – said the captain of the white-and-reds Piotr Gruszka, after the match.
The last time when the polish team, met with the team of Radoslav Sojcev was at the World League. After a hard battle they won 3:2. – We know how the Bulgarian team plays as we have already met them this year. Today we will analyze our game in order to eliminate the mistakes which caused us trouble during the match against Germany and prepare ourselves for the match with Bulgaria. It is known that Nikołow and Kazijski are most dangerous players so we have to eliminate this pair and make it more difficult for them to play – says Gruszka.
The nearest match of the polish national team will be on Saturday at 18.00h against Bulgaria. Earlier, at 15.00h, the match Germany-Slovakia will take place.
