Contract with Andrea Anastasi has already been signed

In the Olympic Center in Warsaw, the Italian coach Andrea Anastasi has signed with the Polish Volleyball Federation, represented by Mirosław Przedpełski, contract concerning coaching of the Polish Senior Men’s National Team. According to the document, the coach will start his work on the 1st of March till the Olympic Games in London.

Today in Rzeszów, he will have opportunity to watch the CEV Cup Semi-Final match between Asseco Resovia and Sisley Treviso and as he mentioned on a press conference, he will support the host team.   
- If I wanted to lead a quiet life, I would stay in Italy. However, I want to live and work in Poland and perform together with the white-and-reds at the Olympic Games, in London. I realize how difficult the task is going to be, but I hope we will manage to end up on a podium. I am proud to work with the Polish National Team. I remember, in 1976 when I was watching Your National Team at the Olympic Games in Montreal, which has long been a model for the whole world – said Anastasi.
On Thursday, Andrea Anastasi will fly to Italy, to come back to Poland in March. Then, he will observe PlusLiga’s matches and talk to the players. One of the members of the training staff of the new polish senior men’s national team coach will be Andrea Gardini. – I will also cooperate with the polish coaches. I will discuss the names with help of the training department of the Polish Volleyball Federation. I invite all of the polish volleyball coaches, willing to find out about my work system, on the training-meetings to be organized in Spała –said Andrea Anastasi.       

- Till the 21st of March I have to announce the names of the 25 players for the National Team. Then, at the beginning of May I will have to reduce the composition of the National Team-said Andrea Anastasi. When asked about the most important issues in the work of a coach, he answered the following: I consider trust between myself, President and Board of the Polish Volleyball Federation the most important issue, together with cooperation with the players.   

After signing the contract, Andrea Anastasi was given by the President, Mirosław Przedpełski, a National Team t-shirt with number 2011. The Italian coach will not consult with the previous coaches: Raul Lozano or Daniel Castellani. –I have my own style, methods and vision of leading the National Team. I have my own idea on volleyball. I am the one who is responsible, therefore, I will organize everything personally-stressed the coach.  
What about the polish language? –It is a very difficult one. So far, Lozano and Castellani have been communicating with the players in Italian. My Italian is much better than my predecessors’, as a result the communication itself should also be better – laughed Anastasi. There will be three languages in the National Team: Italian, English and Polish, naturally.
