Board of the Polish Volleyball Federation unanimously elected Andrea Anastasi as a new coach of the Polish Senior Men’s National Team. According to Mirosław Przedpełski, President of the PVF, contract will be signed till the Olympic Games in London.

President of the PVF during the meeting with journalists said about the first tasks that Andrea Anastasi will have to perform. On the World League our Men’s National Team must be on the podium. We will be the host of the final tournament. World League is a great opportunity to get a lot of points. Promotion to the Olympic Games in London is a fundamental issue. Currently he is in Brazil. He will start work in March - said Mirosław Przedpełski.

50-year-old Andrea Anastasi sat on the coach bench as a 34-year-old, in Serie A2. Very quickly got to the top tournaments, and after six years of coaching his talent was recognized and honored at being appointed coach of the national team. He paid his credit of trust very quickly - in the first year of his career with the national team of Italy won the World League and European Championships (1999).

In the year 2005 he again led the national team (Spanish), and after two years of hard work he surprised the volleyball world - when, in dramatic circumstances, in spite of all .... referees being in charge during the final in Moscow he managed to lead his team to the European top. Then, the team ranked 24th in the world ranking defeated Russia ranked 3rd , the Championships’ leader. - It was a great and surprising success. He knew how to take out the very best of the Spanish National Team. It was a great success for the Spanish volleyball, a historical one - he said the Olympic and World Champion, Richard Bosek.
