- Anastasi: they deserve for the chance
15 April 2013
Thursday afternoon, head coach Andrea Anastasi anounced wide composition of Polish national team for season 2013. Training camp is foreseen from 22nd April 2013 in Spala. To Polish Olympic Preparation Center in Spala will arrive 18 players (Drzyzga, Woicki, Lomacz, Zatorski, Wojtaszek, Konarski, Jarosz, Bociek, Krzysiek, Wisniewski, Klos, Wrona, Zajder, Hain, Ferens, Wierzbowski, Hebda, Zaliński). The rest will join week later.
Complete list includes 32 players, which in the near or distant future I see in my team – said Andrea Anastasi – this are players who deserve for the chance. I’m very glad that on Polish League courts so many talented and young players appeared. Very often they are key players of their teams. I watch Polish League with great pleasure. I'm really satisfied with the attitude of players, both those who have already appeared in the national team, as well as those who aspire to it. Of course, not all of the appointed players will play in the World League. I am forced to cut the list, soon.
Poles will kick off the season with friendly matches with Serbia in Milicz (25th – 24th May 2013). At the beginning of June, Anastasis’ players will start to compete in the World League. From 6th to 8th September in Hubert Wagner Memorial, which will be the last test before 2013 CEV VELUX Volleyball European Championship – Men, Polish team will play against Russia, Germany and Netherlands. Eurovolley will take place in Poland and Denmark 20th – 29th September 2013.
