- Polish youth boys team before the qualification to the ECH
28 December 2012
Beginning of 2013 will be very important for the Polish national youth boys team. From January 3rd to 7th they will play in qualification for the European Championships. Yesterday Wojciech Czaja’s players began their camp in Spała.
Polish national youth boys team has had two successful tests. In November, Poland won the 4 Nations Tournament played in Ostrowiec. Young volleyball players defeated their peers from the Czech Republic, Russia, and colleagues from SMS Spala who replaced Serbia in the tournament.
- It was a very successful test. Our victorious encounter against Russia would be an example of many competitions in this age group - said the coach of our team Wieslaw Czaja after the tournament - I'm with this team since holidays and ever since we have not played that well as we did against Russia. Of course, we don't assume any other option than to try to qualify for the European Championships.
December 18th youngsters went on friendly matches to Austria. White and red turned out to be much better than the Austrians and won three games. At Christmas they got free, but yesterday they have met at training camp in Spala.
They will leave for the qualifying tournament to the European Championships on January 2nd. Eliminations will be held in Nitra, Slovakia, where the Poles will face Bulgaria, Slovakia, Israel, Portugal and England in Group C (3-7.01).
Only two teams from the tournament will advance to the European Championships in Nitra. Qualifying Tournament in Slovakia is the only chance for our volleyball players to qualify to the European Championships which will be held on April 10th -22nd in Serbia.
