The signature under the contract’s contributions have been submitted by President of PVF - Miroslaw Przedpelski and Secretary General - Andrzej Lemek.

In 2013 I await from all players of our team, that they will give the best from themselves in the most important events, such as World Grand Prix and European Championship – said Piotr Makowski after signing a contract with Polish Volleyball Federation. The signature under the contract’s contributions have been submitted by President of PVF - Miroslaw Przedpelski and Secretary General - Andrzej Lemek.

- There is no boundary date of the contract. The most important competition will be Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and some other events are en route. PVF will make all efforts to make new head coach have the best conditions to work – said Andrzej Lemek.

President of PVF, Miroslaw Przedpelski underlined, that both National Teams – Women and Men – are significant at the same level. - It’s not true, that our Federation is doting only on Men team. All expenditures for ladies team are the same. Nobody will not bring any pressure on Piotr – said President.

Piotr Makowski informed, that conversations with staff members are going to finish soon. – Till 15th May we should have signed agreements – he said. – I’m up-to-date with circumstances in Polish Women Volleyball, I have been also following European Cups competitions. I have seen many matches i.e. in Bydgoszcz and Sopot. But it’s too early to tell you the names of players which I would like to see in National Team. I would like to thank to PVF, that it didn’t announced the decision about my appointment and let calmly finish my  season in Delecta Bydgoszcz.

New head coach stressed, that calendar of 2013 is very difficult. – Just few days after WGP Finals will begin European Championship tournament.

The Press Conference was attended by Vice President responsible for schooling, Witold Roman. – Last year was really tough for Women Team. We want to see new quality in the game of our team and new players. We want our team play at the Olympic Games in Rio.

- He’s got all features needed to lead Polish National Team – said President of KS Palac Bydgoszcz club, Waldemar Sagan. He knows Makowski since 20 years.

 - First of all he is a great passionate about Volleyball, ambitious man and coach, who non-stop complements his knowledge. He consequently pursues a goal – continued Sagan and underlined, that Piotr Makowski spend a lot of time and special attention on construction relevant relationships in the team.

 - He always have a time for his player. He went from the lowest to the highest level of coaching. He worked with youth groups and senior teams in club and in national team. In the first year of his work in Palac Bydgoszcz he reached Polish Vice - Champion title and won Polish Cup. – add Sagan.

An important, and perhaps even the most important moment in Piotr Makowski’s career, in opinion of Waldemar Sagan, were held from 25th September – 4th October 2009 Senior Women European Championship in Poland. During the tournament Jerzy Matlak’s wife (head coach at that time) suffered a severe stroke. Piotr Makowski replaced him at that time in leading our team. He started with the first match of second round – against Belgium.

Polish team won bronze medal at this competition – in difficult, extraordinary circumstances Piotr Makowski was up to the task – said Sagan.

After victorious match against Germany Piotr Makowski had three dedications – first one for Mr. Jerzy Matlak and his wife. It is his medal –he said.  Second one – for the men’s team, winners of 2009 CEV Volleyball European Championship,  who promised to keep fingers crossed and didn’t forget to do that. The third one for those who claimed that I was here only for promoting myself.  You have to be an idiot to build my position in someone else's misfortune.

Wlademar Sagan underlines that Piotr Makowski is in the best age for the coach. He already has a lot of experience and he is still young and hungry for victories. – says President of Palac Bydgoszcz Club.

Marian Kardas in the last two years was assistant coach of Piotr Makowski in Delecta Bdygoszcz. – he is very demanding. He likes when job is done. He hates mediocrity. He’s very kind men but he also can give a sharp reprimand. When he’s angry, it is better to give a wide berth - says Marian Kardas, who in the years 1982-2000 played for the Polish national team in 178 matches.

Marian Kardas has no doubt that Piotr Makowski affords to create such a Polish national women team who "will succeed the expectations of all of us."

Piotr Makowski was born on 23rd September 1968 in Bydgoszcz. In 1995 came to Palac Bydgoszcz, to Mr. Waldemar Sagan, and asked for a job. Earlier he was a teacher in the Technical School in Bydgoszcz. He slowly started to achieve successes (e.g. Polish vice-championship with junior team). After year 2000, he got chance to work with Leszek Piasecki, who led Centrostal and together they achieved silver and bronze medals. In season 2004/2005 “Makoś” – because this is his nickname – became the head coach of Bydgoszcz team. At once won silver medal and Polish Cup.

A year later, he won Super Cup of Poland and took fourth place in Moscow’s Final of Top Teams Cup. When in 2007 he didn’t stand on the podium of Polish league he was replaced by Jacek Grabowski.

In April 2008, he returned as the head coach of Centrostal. For the past two seasons led the Plus Liga team  - DELECTA Bydgoszcz, which in 2013 won the regular season and at the final classification was fourth.
