Next teams booked their spots at the 2018 World Championship

The United States defeated the Dominican Republic 3:0 (25:17, 25:10, 25:12) in the final match of the XXV  Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship. The USA grabbed the gold medal of the event for the ninth time. Canada took the 3rd place.

The tournament, which was also the NORCECA qualifying tournament for the 2018 World Championship was held in Colorado Springs from September 26 to October 1. The top three teams - USA, Dominican Republic and Canada - claimed medals and booked their spot for the next year’s event.

- We had an emotional match with Canada yesterday so I was pleased with our team’s ability to come back and be really quite focused and perform at a high level - said John Speraw, the USA coach.

There are three more spots for South Africa (SCV) continental qualifiers and two more for the next NORCECA qualifier.

The 2018 World Championship will be held from September 10 to 30 in Bulgaria and Italy. Poland will defend the title won in 2014.
