Polish junior national team will not fight for medals of the Junior Men’s european Championships. In the last match of group 1 the players led by coach Jacek Nawrocki lost with Russia 3:2 (23:25, 28:26, 17:25, 25:16, 13:15) and did not qualify to the top four of the Polish-Danish Championships.

Now the white-and-reds will play for places 5-8. It is a pity because the team had opportunity to play on Sunday at the hall in Gdynia for medals. The only chance for them was ‘only’ to win with Russia with three-point advantage, either 3:0 or 3:1. The rival had no chances to qualify to the top even with the result 3:0, therefore it hurts even more. The first set, even though emotional, has been lost up to 23 and probably took the Power off our young eagles. They have shown their power in the second set, after the emotional ending in points 26 for us. And when the hope returned and the goal was so close something has broken in the polish team. On Wednesday in Danish Renders to the top four promoted Spain and Turkey from the group 1. In Gdynia young players from Italy and Belgium gained promotion. This match could have been won – this thought will accompany us.

This year, in the championships top four will be missing medalists from the event which took place two years ago – Russia, Serbia and Bulgaria.
