Italy, Netherland, Poland – this was the ranking of the top three teams from the 2009 European Championships, which took place in Poland. Two years ago the tournament has been finished with the organizational success.

Italy, Netherland, Poland – this was the ranking of the top three teams from the 2009 European Championships, which took place in Poland. Two years ago the tournament has been finished with the organizational success. The authorities of the European Volleyball Federation (CEV) and particular guests stressed that organizers performer their duties very well.  


Polish National Team lead by coaches Jerzy Matlak and Piotr Makowski, has been supported by several thousand of spectators in Lodz’s Atlas Arena hall. After the amazing match Poland defeated Germany 3:0.

Polish team will not play with the strongest composition at the championships. Malgorzata Glinka-Mogentale and Katarzyna Skowronska-Dolata – the two most valuable players were missing. The first players gave birth to her child two months ago and Skowronska-Dolata suffered injury.

The gold medal went to Italy, which playing at the tournament in Poland won all the matches, losing only two sets.

This year four players from the past years’ national teams participated in the championships: Milena Radecka (Sadurek), Agnieszka Bednarek-Kasza, Paulina Maj and Klaudia Kaczorowska.
