IBB Polonia London progressed to the next round of National Cup of England

The IBB Polonia London played their first match in the 2017/2018 National Cup of England. They won away match against Sussex United 3:0 (25:15, 25:18, 25:18) and progressed to the next round.

- The game was at times tight, because the hosts were not overawed by champion of England and tried to beat us. They fought for every ball and deserved a round of applause. In this match we focused on ourselves, on improving our game to make a progress in near future. We managed to perform 80% of our task, so there is still a room for improvement. We did a big step forward, but there are few more steps to do before we reach a top of our shape. Everything goes as planned. We cannot speed it up, because we have a very young team with many new players - said Piotr Graban, head coach of IBB Polonia London.

The next round of the National Cup of England is scheduled for Saturday, November 11. Then, the IBB Polonia London will play home match at Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre against the New Forest. The winner will book a spot in the quarter finals. In the meantime, the team from London are going to prepare for the next league match.

- We came back to work on Monday, we have a match against Sheffield ahead of us. We want to perform well and grab points to league ranking. We would like to invite all fans, we really need their support during this match - admitted Graban.

This Saturday (October 14) is going to be a real volleyball feast in East London - two matches of the Super 8 will be held in the Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre (TW8 0HJ IBB). IBB Polonia will play their first home game after a long break and it's anticipated blockbuster - the champion of England will face with runner-up Sheffield Hallam. The match starts at 3:00 PM (GMT). Earlier, two women's team will enter the court - Polonia SideOut London will play against Team Durham at 1:00 PM. During these matches some solutions, which are already used by professional clubs, will be tested. It's a forerunner of next step in development and professionalization of English volleyball.
