IBB Polonia London advanced to quarterfinal of the England Cup

IBB Polonia London claimed a straight-sets victory over New Forest (25:18; 25:16; 25:19) and secured a spot in quarterfinal of the England Cup.

- Players of New Forest wanted to make a surprise and win this match. They came here focused and determined. Our opponents didn't have anything to lose, so they risked with service and they presented us with some problems in this element. When they were scoring a few points in a row, we felt a rush of extra energy and were back in our game - commented Piotr Graban, head coach of IBB Polonia London.

- Saturday's victory certainly boosted the morale of the team. We still have to improve a few elements of our game, but we are motivated and we want to play better every match. We will do our best to prove that IBB Polonia London still reign in England's national league and cup - said Dorian Poinc, team captain of IBB Polonia London.

The Saturday's match had some unusual beginning. Due to historical significance of November 11, there was a minute of silence before the first whistle of the game to honour all those who died in the war, as part of the Remembrance Day celebrations. IBB Polonia London commemorates regaining independence by Poland in 1918 (also November 11) this whole season, by playing in match shirts with "Niepodległa" ("Independent") logo.

The next match of the England Cup is scheduled for the end of January. Meanwhile, the team led by Piotr Graban have started their "mission Northumbria". Over this week, their training and preparation are focused on the revenge match against team from Newcastle. On Saturday, November 18, fans will enjoy all-day volleyball festivities in the Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre.

- We still have to work on a couple of details, but our play is improving in every match. A week of preparation before a match against Northumbria is ahead of us. I believe, that we will show a very good volleyball and that we will get points for league ranking - added Piotr Graban.

- Obviously, the next match won't be an easy one. We know that they are demanding rivals, but we will be playing a home match and we will have a strong support from our fans. I would like to invite everyone to come and cheer, because emotions are guaranteed. I hope that fans will be our additional player and their support will lead us to victory - said Poinc.

The match against Team Northumbria is scheduled for 15:00. Tickets are available to book online: polonia.eventbrite.co.uk
