Host-City Kraków with the official 2017 Club World Championship logo

Kraków is the Host-City of the final stage of the 2017 FIVB Men's Club World Championship. During a press conference, Tomasz Cieślik, President of Professional Sports Events, the organizer of the event presented the official nomination to Krzysztof Kowal, Director of Sports Infrastructure Management in Kraków. The official logo of Host-City Kraków and the trophy for the best team of the event were also introduced.

Kraków - next to Łódz and Opole - is the Host City of the 2017 Club World Championship. The event has been organised since 1989 and this month will be held in Poland for the first time in history. The Club World Championship is one of the most prestigious volleyball events around the globe. The semi-finals and finals will be hosted by Kraków. During the whole tournament Kraków will use the official logo of the Club World Championship.

- Tauron Arena in Kraków hosted the world's biggest events in sports. Next week, the Club World Championship will be added to this list. It is here that we are going to see the games with the highest stakes. Here the teams will fight for the title of the club world champion and the trophy which we can see today - said Jacek Kasprzyk, President of the Polish Volleyball Federation.

- The top eight clubs of the world will compete at this tournament. I hope that in the final stage we will see also the Polish teams - ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and PGE Skra Bełchatów. The PlusLiga All-Star Match, which will take place on Friday, preceding the final weekend, will also be a real treat for all volleyball fans. I would like to invite everyone to be a part of this unique event - said Krzysztof Kowal, Director of Sports Infrastructure Management in Kraków.

Tomasz Cieślik, President of Professional Sports Events, the organizer of the event added: - The 2017 Club World Championship are the last element in the crown of volleyball events in Poland. We can pride ourselves on organising all international volleyball tournaments.

On December 16 and 17, Kraków will host the best volleyball players in the world, which will be fight for the title of club world champion. Three years ago, the 2014 World Championship were held in this venue. Then, Poland claimed gold and Krzysztof Ignaczak - an ambassador of the 2017 Club World Championship - was a member of this team.

- The victory in the final match brings enormous emotions, which balance the effort put into a multi-stage sport competition. I wish this to every team I visited during the preparation for the Club World Championship. It will be a unique tournament in every respect and that's why it's worth to watch these matches live - it's the highest level of volleyball you can imagine - said Krzysztof Ignaczak.

The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship will be held in Poland from 12 to 17 December 2017 in Opole, Łódź and Kraków. The top eight clubs of the world will compete in the first three days of tournament in Łódź and Opole fighting for spots in semi-finals. From December 12 to 14 in Atlas Arena in Łódź, PGE SKRA Bełchatów will clash with Shanghai Volleyball Club (China), Personal Bolivar (Argentina) and Zenit Kazan (Russia). At the same time in Hala Widowiskowo-Sportowa in Opole the reigning national champions ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle will face Cucine Lube Civitanova (Italy), Sarmayeh Bank of Tehran (Iran) and defending champions Sada Cruzeiro (Brazil). The top four teams will head to Kraków to play the semi-finals and finals on December 16 and 17, in Tauron Arena. There we shall see which team can claim the most prestigious trophy in club volleyball.
