- Finals of the Junior European Championships. Top teams in Randers are Bulgaria, Spain, as well as Belgium and Italy in Gdynia.
Karolina Piotrowska, 27 August 2012
At the Junior European Championships held in Randers and Gdynia, participating teams are already behind three or two series of meetings. In Denmark, the group no. 2 started the tournament a day earlier than in a sport hall in Gdynia. Today, in Randers, there is a day-off. In Gdynia, the day-off is going to take place on Tuesday.
Speaking of the Danish group the teams which are the closest to the semifinal (two top teams) are Bulgaria and Spain, which did not lose a match in Randers. Also Turkey is going to be important. In the last matches we are going to see – on Tuesday, the 28th of August – Denmark-Spain, Bulgaria-Turkey and Greece-Germany. The next day the following matches are to be held: Spain-Bulgaria, Turkey-Greece and Germany-Denmark.
In the ‘polish’ group the top two team which collected 5 points each are Belgium and Italy. Poland is ranked third with 4 points, but still is to play match against Italy (today at 20:30h) as well as Serbia and Russia. Promotion to the top 4 teams is going to be hard, however, workable. Interesting is how will the excellent young players of Belgium play against the favorites – Russia and Italy. After what they have presented in Gdynia, among all the teams of group I the seem to be the best.
