Developres SkyRes Rzeszów qualified for the group stage of the CEV Champions League

Developres SkyRes Rzeszów secured a spot in group stage of Champions League, joining Poland’s reigning national champions KPS Chemik Police and runners-up Grot Budowlani Łódź who were directly qualified for this stage.

The team from Rzeszów won their revenge match on home court against Nova KBM Branik Maribor 3:1 (25:15, 25:20, 20:25, 27:25).

Their first encounter which was held in Slovenia also ended with a 3:1 victory of Developres SkyRes. Therefore, in the re-match winning just two setsalready guaranteed advancing to the group stage (round of 16) of Champions League for Rzeszów.

Developres SkyRes fulfilled their duty and after an hour of play they could already celebrate their success. However, in the second set the Slovenian champions set the bar pretty high. The guest team was leading 6:2 and then 9:4, but from that moment on the hosts started their winning streak - claiming 8 points in a row. They thend kept the score safe until the end of the set. Developres SkyRes Rzeszów qualified for the pool stage in their first-ever participation at the CEV Champions League.
