Karolina Piotrowska, 21 September 2011
Two years ago in Izmir polish men’s national team won the title of the European Champion and a while later polish women’s national team won the bronze medal of the ECH. Is it going to be the other way around? After the bronze medal of Anastasi’s team is it high time for the gold for women’s national team? – My son also told me this time the situation will be the opposite – said Alojzy Świderek, coach of the polish senior women’s national team. – Of course we all wish it was this way. – Definitely the expectations are high – added Klaudia Kaczorowska. – The boys won the medal and now it would be good for us to win too.
Polish volleyball players have spent the last three weeks on preparations in Szczyrk. Meanwhile they participated in the III Memorial of Agata Mróz-Olszewska in Dąbrowa Górnicza, where they were ranked second defeating Slovakia and Croatia. – The process of preparations is running very well – said coach of the white-and-reds. – The atmosphere inside the team is also good. The two days left till the departure. We will spend them in Warsaw having three trainings.
Polish senior women’s national team in perfect mood and full of optimism will depart for the European Championships on Thursday. The tournament starts on Saturday in Serbia and Italy. In the elimination group, in Zrenjanin, the white-and-reds will play against Czech Republic, Israel and Romania. – I consider Czech Republic as the strongest rival – said Milena Radecka. – However, we should not disregard anybody – added Klaudia Kaczorowska. All the matches are important, especially the opening one. But the biggest level of adrenaline rise accompanies the matches for the most important goals.
